Tenkara is a form of fly fishing from Japan that is as elegant as fly fishing can be. It is simply a rod with a line attached to the tip.
  1. Tenkara fly rods do not come with a fly reel.
  2. The rods do not have guides or a reel seat.


Features

FLY ROD: 6', 5 sections, rod. Has removable, laser etched butt cap to remove rod sections, 8 5/8” long cork handle. Includes plug to place in rod when sections are collapsed for storage. Collapsed length is 19 3/4” long.
TENKARA LINES: 7 1/2’ chartreuse, furled nylon line with metal ring to attach tippet (qty. 1), 8' blue PVC floating line with welded loop for tippet (qty. 1) and 8' olive PVC floating line with polyester furled level line with metal ring to attach tippet (qty. 1).
FOAM LINE STORAGE SPOOL: qty1; LINE STORAGE CLIPS: with o-rings for mounting to rod, qty 2; TIPPET SPOOL: 5X, 4.4lb. test, 30 meters
ROD CASE: 22” hard tube rod case. Case has a carry strap and hang ring.
FLY BOX: Waterproof, Floating, 5.25" x 3.5" x 1.25", custom box & foam design, holds up to 372 flies. FLIES: Total 12 flies; Black Sakasa Kebari, size 12 (qty2), Olive Sakasa Kebari, size 12 (qty2), Tan Killer Kebari, size 12 (qty2), Black Killer Kebari, size 12 (qty2), Hi-Vis Orange Indicator Kebari (qty2), size 12, & Tan Hen & Hound, size 12 (qty2)

All fly fishing kits are not created equal. There are a lot of packages being sold by new, overseas sellers looking to make a quick buck that have never even cast a fly rod or seen a trout. The newcomers with anonymous brands can only copy what we have created.

Yes! We actually use our own rods. Wild Water doesn’t put components in our kits that you don’t need just to make it seem like you are getting a good deal. In most cases we redesigned components of the kit to make it work better than the competition.



The only other USA companies that do the same level of design and testing are going to charge you over $200 for a similar product. Every Wild Water package arrives at your door ready-to-fish. All you need to do is put the rod together, attach the reel, thread the line and tie on a fly.

Wow

I bought for blue line waters but had the chance at some 8 to 12” trout and I will say it handled them perfectly with no problem handles as good as my dragontail

Excellent product a must buy for tenkara anglers.

I have caught dozens of trout on this rod! I have even fallen and thought I would damaged the rod while I was fishing. It is durable and has a great action! I could not be happier with wild water products.

Super compact! Great for hiking!

Really enjoy this little fishing rod. Not something I use as my main fishing pole but I always take it with me when I go fishing. So portable and fun to use. Always catches fish.

Fantastic way to start Tenkara

Bought this after seeing some Tenkara ads online. Wanted something that had the full kit. Extremely happy with my purchase. Slowly becoming my favorite style of fishing. It does take a little bit of practice but so worth it. Highly recommended
