  • Fly Rod: 5/6 weight, 9', 4 Piece, medium-fast action fly rod. Has machined aluminum reel seat with laser etched butt cap, 7” long, Western style cork handle with compressed cork accent rings, stainless steel stripper guide with silicon carbide rings, stainless single foot guides and tip top. Each section is 28” long.
  • Rod Case: 32” hard tube rod case with, reel pouch and side storage pouch with zipper. The case will hold rod, reel, fly box and all the accessories. Case has a carry strap and hang ring.
  • Rod Bag: 4-section cloth rod bag with ties. Fly rod is placed in the bag before storing in the tube for the best protection.
  • Fly Reel: 85mm diameter spool, die cast aluminum, adjustable disc drag. Comes preinstalled with chartreuse, WF-5F, weight forward 5, floating fly line, 20# orange backing and 9’ 5X tapered monofilament leader. All Wild Water fly reels are easily changed from left to right hand retrieve. Reel will come in left hand retrieve unless right hand is requested.
  • Fly Box: Waterproof, Floating, 5.25" x 3.5" x 1.25", custom box design, custom foam design, holds up to 372 flies.

All fly fishing kits are not created equal. There are a lot of packages being sold by new, overseas sellers looking to make a quick buck that have never even cast a fly rod or seen a trout. The newcomers with anonymous brands can only copy what we have created. 



The copy is never as good as the original! Wild Water has been offering the best package for the money since 2006. Unlike some cheap, generic packages found online, Wild Water has selected and tested each component in our starter packages to make sure you get only the best. 

Yes! We actually use our own rods. Wild Water doesn’t put components in our kits that you don’t need just to make it seem like you are getting a good deal. In most cases we redesigned components of the kit to make it work better than the competition.

The reel seat is loose and rotates during use. Tightening the lock nut does not fix this issue. Seems the reel slot is either too large or is loose inside the rod handle.

Great combo

Combo arrived quickly and was complete. Every part of the combo is good quality and had 5 rainbows in hand within 20 minutes ( Caddis fly in March, included in combo) I purchased 2 and definitely recommend for any one looking to get started to get this combo read the description before you purchase to match the flies pack to your area ( Northwest pack for me, floating line) so far it's been a great fly rod and reel.

Wild Water Deluxe Fly Fishing Kit, 9ft 5/6 wt Rd

All the contents looks and feel good, but I have not yet used any of this fly fishing equipment. The pole and reel seem to be quite adequate and appropriate for my intended fishing. The tackle is a nice bonus, and the cost for all of the content and quality is very reasonable. I'm looking forward to fishing this spring with the 'tools' you have sent. I will let you know if I am disappointed, but I don't think that will be the case. Thank you for asking for the feedback!
